As the pendulum of the 2027 general election swings, the good people of Abia North in the diaspora, Europe and Asia have unanimously decided with all sense of solidarity that Chief Dr Emeka Charles Kalu is not only fit but politically qualified to represent us in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly. This decision was reached following a series of deliberations by the Diasporan General Assembly held in Frankfurt on the 25th of February 2025. Guided by lines of cogent reasons, Chief Dr . Emeka Kalu, in his personal efforts and commitment, has positively touched lives in different capacities to date, and posterity wouldn’t forget in a hurry. As an agent of change and human empowerment, Dr. Kalu, in his philanthropic services to humanity, has succeeded in giving scholarships to many students not only in Abia State but in Nigeria in general.
It stands to reason that when such a man of a golden heart is saddled with the responsibilities of representing his people in the upper federal parliament, there is no doubt of the extent to which he would strive to ensure his constituents enjoy the dividends of democracy. Recalled that during the COVID-19 outbreak, Chief. Emeka Kalu, from his hard-earned resources, selflessly donated large volumes of palliatives to various communities in Bende to help relieve the people of the pressing hardship and food crisis felt during the epidemic. What thrills our hearts as a United Body founded on excellence and accountability is that Chief Kalu spends from his personal purse to grow the seeds of success in man while most of our political leaders rely on their loot from the public treasury to entice their weak followers with a piece of bread crumbs to sustain their hunger and poverty.

Furthermore, the continued free feeding and hunger relief initiatives the Eck Foundation under the watch of Chief Kalu has successfully carried out in various States of the federation pencils his name on the golden plate of honour. A Foundation he personally established with the sole aim of advancing and promoting humanity, that today, is globally recognized as a champion of true values, love and service to humanity. Under the present government, no one is comfortably smiling as Nigerians are regrettably witnessing the mother of all hardships: crushing inflation, food insecurity, unprecedented hikes in commodity prices and a host of other economic bottlenecks. These failed economic policies led to the exit of many multinational corporations from the Country, while Indigenous business outfits are closing offices and retrenching staff in the wake of the unfavourable business climate in Nigeria. Seeing the sorry state of the economy, Chief Kalu quickly took to training the youth in divergent areas in skill acquisitions such as computer, woodwork practice and other technical activities capable of earning one a living.
In a nutshell, leadership is all about the people, not the leader, it is a mantle held in trust not a private staff of office meant to suppress the leader, so a leader’s antecedents are measured by the strength of his character, competence and values which Chief Kalu has in many ways proven to have earned. Ndi Abia North needs a change in the patterns of representations she has been having in the National Parliament since the fourth republic and the time is ripe for such change actualization. This expected change, when robustly actualized, would, among other things, strengthen the weak and, most importantly, free the wheels of democracy to roll. We, therefore, thank the good people of Abia North for their spirited efforts to ensure our previous annual general meeting was successfully held and concrete decisions reached without compromise. The good news is that we have set the ball rolling while encouraging our people to jointly rally around Chief Dr Emeka Kalu in his bid to represent Abia North in the Senate come 2027, as nothing ever stands to decimate the power of a united voice for change.
