End the Bloodshed: Dr. Kalu’s Plea for Peace in Nibo

The devastating news of the cult clash in Nibo, Anambra State, has left our hearts heavy with grief and our minds reeling with shock. The senseless loss of 16 precious lives, mostly youths, is a stark reminder of the dangers of violence and the urgent need for collective action.

Chief Dr. Emeka Charles Kalu, Okpata Ozuora Na Nibo, has rightly called for an end to this violence and urged the Anambra State government to intervene swiftly.

As we mourn the loss of these young lives, we must also acknowledge the bravery of the residents who risked their lives to share warnings and updates on social media. Their voices, though laced with fear and concern, serve as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

“In the face of this tragedy, I demand swift Government Intervention. The Anambra State government must take immediate action to restore peace and order in Nibo.
“A thorough investigation and prosecution of those responsible for the violence must be ensured and rovision of aid and resources to affected families and the community at large” he Urges.

He thanked the Anambra State Police Command for swift action , and the ordering of additional security backup in the area. “However, more needs to be done to address the root causes of this violence and prevent future occurrences”, he insisted.

“As we stand in solidarity with the people of Nibo, we urge all stakeholders to work together towards a common goal: peace and security for all. We must reject the normalization of violence and instead promote a culture of understanding, tolerance, and respect.

“To the families of the victims, I offer my deepest condolences. May the memories of your loved ones be a blessing, and may you find strength in this difficult time.

“Let us unite in our quest for peace and demand an end to senseless violence in our communities”, Kalu appeals.
