Rights activist Aisha Yesufu has sworn to back Labour Party, LP, candidate Peter Obi’s bid for president in the future.
Yesufu declared that she would never back Obi to become Nigeria’s president rather than the Imam of a mosque.
She said that Obi is the one who can take Nigeria away from those who want to hold it back.
“Your own” in politics is not one you share the same religion, ethnicity, or gender with, Yesufu stated in a post on X. One who can provide you with sound governance is “your own.”
“You see, Mr. Peter Obi @PeterObi, even though I might end up being his only supporter, I will NEVER support him to be the Imam of a mosque. However, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he has my full support.”
“I will support him a thousand times if he wishes to run a thousand times. I’ll work hard for this project a thousand times over. I see someone in him who is prepared to put in the arduous labor required to free Nigeria from the grip of its oppressors.
“I’m concentrating on my effort. I shouldn’t have to give up because the victory was pilfered. My attention is on how to make sure the victory isn’t taken the following time. It is never an option to give up. Here, we perish.
