On February 8, the NLC and the Trade Union Congress issued a 14-day nationwide strike notice to the Federal Government for the inability to implement the October 2 agreements following the elimination of fuel subsidies.

However, as Nigerians continue to face economic hardship, the union decided to stage a two-day nationwide protest to stress their demands.

Despite a security alert from the Department of State Services (DSS), the union launched the protest in various cities around the country.

In the early hours of Tuesday, angry Nigerians and workers were spotted marching inside Labour House with security personnel.
